2016 Abba Vineyard Grenache

2016_Abba-Grenache_front_whiteback

We love Grenache, so decided to add a second vineyard to the lineup. This fruit comes from the Abba vineyard, just east of Acampo in the Mokelumne River appellation of Lodi. Sandy soils, hot dry climate, exactly what Grenache vines love. 20% whole clusters were used to add an extra layer of complexity.

90 pts Wine Advocate

Pale and delicate in hue, the keenly priced 2016 Grenache Abba Vineyard from Betwixt Wines exhibits aromas of wild strawberry and raspberries. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied, supple and melting, with a juicy succulence that makes it dangerously easy to drink. Vinified with 20% whole clusters, it spent 17 months in neutral barrels.”
